What documents do I need in order to visit Costa Rica?

All visitors to Costa Rica including babies and young children must possess a passport valid for at least three months from the date of arrival. We advise you to bring a photocopy of your passport as well in case you lose your original.


What currency is accepted in Costa Rica?

Generally, both US Dollars and Costa Rican Colones are accepted.


Can I get money from a local ATM?

Yes, there are many banks and ATM Machines in Quepos town.


What about tips/gratuities for the staff?

Tips are appropriate for the staff at the end of your stay (typically guests tip the staff on their last morning at breakfast).


Are there medical facilities nearby?

Yes, there are local hospitals, private doctors, pharmacies. Your host will assist you in any emergency situation.


What is the cost of the villa?

The cost of the villa depends on the property and the season. We require a three night minimum stay and will quote special rates for long term stays.


What is the method of payments?

By credit card, personal check, or wire transfer. 


How do I make a reservation?

Simply fill out the inquiry form in reservations, or email us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. telling us what type of vacation rental you are looking for and we will get back to you with a list of properties that best suit your needs.


What is the cancellation policy?

All cancellations forfeit the 50% reservation deposit. Provided the house can be re-rented for the same period, the remaining 50% is fully refundable minus administration costs and rate differences.


Do you allow pets?

Pets only allowed by special request.


What are the services and tours available?

We offer concierge services and will be happy to assist you in obtaining ground transportation between San Jose and Manuel Antonio (by rental car or private van and driver), and will set up tours and activities such as a charter fishing trip, Canopy Tour (the ever-popular zip line), a tour of the Manuel Antonio National Park, ATV tour, horseback riding, rafting, scuba, surfing lessons, etc., or we can arrange for a relaxing in-house massage or a private chef to prepare an unforgettable special meal.  Additionally, your concierge will be happy to direct you to a great restaurant (and will make the reservation for you if one is desired), and can tell you where the grocery store is, can advise you on using public transportation, and will be a valuable source of insider information for you.  


How do I get to the villas?

Your concierge will meet you at a pre-determined point and will get you comfortably settled into your Villa.   


How do I get to the villa from the International Airport in San Jose?

There are several ways to get from San Jose to Manuel Antonio:

1.) Car rental:   Many guests prefer to rent a car in San José and drive themselves to Manuel Antonio.  The rates vary depending on the type of car and the season.  It is about a 2 1/2 to 3 hour drive.  You may also rent a car later in Quepos, if you find yourself without a car and would like to have one, although the rates are slightly higher than renting the car in San Jose. We will be happy to assist you with the logistics in obtaining your car from Quepos.

2.) Private transportation service:  Your concierge will be happy to set you up with a van and driver to transport you to your Villa in Manuel Antonio.  Our drivers are dependable and courteous, and speak English, and the van is air conditioned with water on board for your comfort. 

The price for a private van and driver (one way) is:

1 – 9 people:  $240

10-25 people: $35080

3.) Domestic flights

There are two domestic airlines that fly daily to Quepos; Sansa Air and Nature Air. The rate is approximately $70 per person, one way, and the flight takes about 25 minutes.  There are multiple flights available, depending on the season.  We will be happy to pick you up at the Quepos airport and transport you to your villa.

Is there an additional charge for laundry and maid service?

The Bungalow and Casa 405, in the Tulemar Resort, include daily maid service (does not include personal laundry).

Casa Reserva;  daily maid service (including personal laundry service) is provided daily at no additional charge. 

In any of our other villas, maid service is provided every 3rd day (does not include personal laundry) at no additional charge. 


At what time of year can I get the best rates?

The lowest rates are from October 1 to mid November.  The next best season for the most affordable rates runs from May 1 to Sepember 30.  This is considered the rainy season, but like many other areas, you may have rain and you may not.  If staying in Manuel Antonio during the rainy season, plan your tours and activities for the morning when you are most likely to have excellent weather.

Can I hire a private chef?

Private Chef Services are one of the most popular services offered.  Your chef will prepare a menu based on your input, and will create an amazing meal at your Villa.  A chef can be arranged for one special meal (breakfast, lunch or dinner), or will prepare meals for your and your party for your entire stay.  The cost for this service is $105 for breakfast or lunch, and $140 for dinner (for up to 4 people;  there is a minimal additional charge for additional guests) plus the cost of the food.  (This service is not available at the Bungalows at this time.)

What services do you offer?

Our services are two-fold:

1.  Reservations management and client care, which includes all marketing, reservations, payment handling and client care services.

2. Property and staff management and upkeep,which includes bill payment, staff management and property maintenance for a flat monthly fee depending on which services you require from us, and the size and activity of the home.

How do I list my property?

When you join Green Coast Rentals you will fill out a simple form. Once you have provided the information about your vacation rental, we take care of the rest.


How do I go about changes and updates to my property? 

Simple. Once we have added your property to GreenCoastRentals.com, you may change any aspects of your listing as needed. Just let us know and we will update it.
